Epidemiologists are often called upon to help plan data collection methods. This is specially true for smaller scale research studies where dedicated resources for hiring IT specialists / Data managers are not available. In my previous 10 years of experience as an epidemiologist in India, I have realized that there is a severe shortage of structured learning resources to address this need. I wish to make a difference in this situation. Personally I have had experience of using Epi-Info, Epi-Data, OpenDataKit as well as custom developed MySQL-PHP solutions. I have also played around with Openclinica but frankly never used it.
My primary focus here will be to keep things simple and easy and EpiInfo will be the platform most discussed.
